Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Disclosed
According to the official statement, "A strange encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret cult.
The adventure concentrates on "strange trials and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's newest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This signifies hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime series. The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla subtly included a quest that obviously echoed the famous series One-Punch Man.
